Requesting an account on Arrhenius HPC

Warning

This information is for users in projects allocated via NAISS / NAC. If you are a user in a EuroHPC project, see Access for EuroHPC users.

In order to get access to Arrhenius HPC you need to apply for a login account via SUPR

  1. Go to the Accounts page. On this page you will be able to see your existing accounts and their status.
  2. Press Request Account on Arrhenius HPC @ NAISS. If you already have a NAISS username, that will be reused. Otherwise, you have 2 options to select a username:
    1. Use the dropdown list to select one of the suggested usernames (from earlier systems or automatically constructed)
    2. Enter another choice in the Requested Username text box. This will cause a manual check that will add some time to the process.
  3. Press Request Account to proceed.

Accepting the new NAISS General Terms of Use

For Arrhenius, the new NAISS General Terms of Use replace the earlier NAISS User Agreement. If you have not already accepted them, you will be redirected to the page where you do that.

When you have accepted the terms, you should get redirected to the page for setting password and two-factor authenticaiton for your Arrhenius HPC login account

Setting password and registering two-factor authentication

You should automatically get to this page for your Arrhenius HPC account when you have requested an account and accepted the NAISS General Terms of Use. Otherwise, you get here via the Set Password and Two-Factor Authentication link in the Accounts table. If your Account Request was waiting for project membership and/or a manual username check, you get here from the link in the email sent when ready.

Read information about how to select a TOTP application Follow the instructions on the page to install a TOTP app if needed, scan the QR code with the TOTP app and then enter your desired Arrhenius HPC password and the first verification code from the TOTP app to complete the process.

Checking login account status

The status of your account creation can be seen on the Accounts page.

Changing password or two-factor authentication

If you need to change your password, go to the Accounts page in SUPR and use the "Change Password" button in the table for your Arrhenius HPC account. If that is not available for your account, use the "Get Support" button instead and submit a support ticket asking for a password change.

If you need to change your two-factor authentication, go to the Accounts page in SUPR and use "Get Support" button and submit a support ticket asking for a change of two-factor authentication. Before you do this, please check that you are using the right two-factor code (for Arrhenius HPC and not something else) and that the time on your device is correct.
